As our facility and team grow, we are seeking a Global Logistics Specialist to manage complex domestic and international material movement and help build scalable logistics processes for our expanding semiconductor manufacturing operations. Position summary The Global Logistics Specialist independently manages domestic and international shipments of equipment, materials, and supplies, with a focus on complex import/export and capital equipment logistics. Within delegated authority, the role selects transportation providers, negotiates freight terms, approves spending, and resolves shipment and customs issues while balancing cost, timing, and risk. This position owns commercial and operational logistics decisions and partners with technical teams on equipment requirements and vendor communication. Essential responsibilities Global logistics strategy and decision authority Independently plan domestic and international shipments, including urgent, high-value, and capital equipment moves, balancing cost, timing, customs requirements, and risk. Evaluate freight quotes, select transportation modes, routes, and providers, and negotiate rates and service terms within delegated authority. Approve logistics spending within assigned limits and expedite, reroute, hold, or consolidate shipments as needed. Develop and improve logistics procedures, documentation standards, provider expectations, and internal controls. Advise Operations leadership and stakeholders on logistics options, provider performance, and recommendations supporting business continuity and major projects. International import, export, and customs management Manage domestic and international inbound and outbound shipment execution from origin through final delivery, including pickup, transportation, customs clearance, delivery, and receiving coordination. Review and approve international shipping documentation for completeness and commercial accuracy, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, values, item descriptions, country of origin, and other required shipment data. Interpret and apply Incoterms, routing instructions, documentation requirements, and established trade-compliance procedures; coordinate with customs brokers and technical resources regarding HTS classifications, duties, country-of-origin information, and other customs requirements. Investigate and resolve significant customs holds, documentation deficiencies, carrier disputes, damage claims, shortages, delivery failures, and other shipment exceptions on behalf of YST within delegated authority. Evaluate the operational and cost implications of TIB, bonded shipments, FTZ, duty-management, and other specialized import/export options and make recommendations to management in coordination with qualified customs or legal resources. Monitor changes in carrier, broker, customs, and international-shipping requirements that affect YST operations and recommend updates to logistics procedures and controls. Capital equipment and project logistics Lead end-to-end logistics planning for specialized and high-value capital equipment, including origin pickup, transportation mode, route, delivery schedule, site access, rigging, staging, and installation logistics. Select and coordinate specialized transportation and rigging providers within delegated authority; evaluate provider capabilities, pricing, insurance, schedule, and project risk. Develop logistics plans, budgets, contingencies, and delivery sequences for capital-equipment projects and make operational decisions necessary to protect schedule, equipment condition, and facility readiness.
