Global Logistics Intern
Promega CorporationJOB OBJECTIVE: The Global Logistics Intern provides comprehensive support to Promega’s Global Logistics organization (Shipping, Receiving, Distribution Services, Helix Operations, Customer Service, Trade Compliance & Dangerous Goods, Continuous Improvement, Sustainability, and Logistics Branches worldwide), with a strong emphasis on applying AI and automation tools to improve processes, data analysis, and reporting. The role offers hands-on experience in operations support, continuous improvement, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. CORE DUTIES: Participates in the ongoing implementation of improvement projects within the logistics department, including lean methodologies and Kaizen-related activities; assists in identifying opportunities for process improvements and works with teams to implement solutions; applies data analytics methods to summarize results and build visual solutions for key performance indicators (KPIs). Applies AI tools to build, automate, or improve processes and reporting (e.g., scripting, workflow automation, data pipelines). Assists in tracking and analyzing logistics data to improve operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making; supports the preparation of reports and presentations for internal stakeholders. Assists with administrative and project/event coordination tasks across Global Logistics — including document management (review, consolidation, migration) and support for cross-functional projects, meetings, and events, as directed. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Junior or Senior standing, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ability to present data and findings clearly and concisely. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP. Experience using lean manufacturing or six sigma concepts. Experience working with logistics or in a warehouse setting. Coursework or hands-on experience applying AI/automation tools (e.g., Python, Claude, or similar). Project management exposure. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time. Manual dexterity and sensory faculties to read and key in handwritten and printed data for extended periods.
