General Shipping Worker

SUMMARY: The General Labor, Shipping team member supports the Shipping department in getting the highest quality pork products to our customers safely, accurately, and on time. This team member is a flexible, dependable contributor who is able to perform all of the jobs in the department, including picking, palletizing, loading, lumping, scanning, and general housekeeping duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pick boxes from levels by product code and date to fill orders for loads. Stack boxes onto pallets to fill orders, and build pallets that are stable, accurate, and ready to ship. Load trucks and lump or load racks, as assigned. Support carousel freezer and export order fulfillment, as assigned. Drive a PIT to move, stage, and load product, and use a scan gun to scan product and confirm orders. Handle pallet duties, including keeping pallets staged and supplied, and complete trash duties to keep the department clean, safe, and organized. Cover for breaks and absent team members, and assist or cover for Management Support when needed. Help maintain a functional department by moving to the area of greatest need. Follow all food safety, quality, and safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and report concerns promptly. Complete CCP certification, or be willing to be trained to do so. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Good Vision Good Balance/Coordination Knowledge of PIT Controls, or the ability to be trained and certified Ability to lift, carry, and stack product, including lifts of 50 to 100 pounds Ability to work in freezer environments of negative 10 to negative 20 degrees for up to 80 percent of the day, one to two days per week, and in dock areas of about 40 degrees for the full day Commitment to our competencies: Honest, Engaged, Respectful, and Excellent #TF Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
