General Manager – Healthcare Laundry Operations

Company Overview Florida Linen Services is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a healthcare laundry facility. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient production, quality control, employee safety, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and operational management experience, with the ability to improve productivity, control costs, maintain healthcare laundry certification standards, and lead a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Facility Operations: Oversee daily production, maintenance, distribution, inventory, and overall facility performance to ensure efficient operations. Leadership & Employee Management: Supervise department managers and employees, oversee staffing, training, performance management, and employee development. Production & Quality Control: Ensure healthcare linens are processed efficiently while maintaining cleanliness, quality standards, and proper separation of clean and soiled linens. Safety & Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA requirements, workplace safety regulations, infection prevention procedures, and company policies. Industry Certifications: Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare laundry certification requirements, including TRSA Hygienically Clean Healthcare standards, and ensure audit readiness. Equipment & Maintenance: Coordinate preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and operational improvements to minimize downtime. Customer Service: Collaborate with Customer Service Managers and Sales Personnel to resolve service concerns, maintain customer satisfaction, support new accounts, and promote customer retention. Financial Management: Manage operating budgets, labor costs, production expenses, and cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability. Inventory Management: Monitor linen inventory, shortages, losses, and replacement needs to maintain operational efficiency. Performance Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), implement corrective actions, and continuously improve productivity, quality, safety, and service delivery. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of management experience in commercial laundry, healthcare linen services, manufacturing, or industrial operations preferred. Experience managing multiple departments, supervisors, and operational teams. Knowledge of healthcare linen processing, infection prevention, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance preferred. Experience with budgeting, cost control, production management, and performance improvement. Familiarity with TRSA Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification or similar industry standards preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Linen Master or similar production management software preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and respond to operational demands. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus. Performance Expectations The General Manager will be responsible for achieving production goals, maintaining quality and safety standards, controlling operating costs, ensuring certification compliance, developing employees, minimizing equipment downtime, and delivering excellent customer service. Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced industrial laundry facility and requires regular presence in production areas, the ability to inspect operations, and flexibility to address operational needs.
