NOW HIRING — RETAIL GENERAL MANAGER GEAR LOCKER LA | MELROSE, LOS ANGELES Pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours weekly; weekend availability required Location: 7452 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA Employment: Hourly, nonexempt About Gear Locker LA Established in 2018, Gear Locker LA is an independent Los Angeles streetwear retailer specializing in trending apparel, exclusive styles, and affordable fashion. As we expand into our new Melrose location, we're looking for a motivated, experienced retail leader to help take our business to the next level. Position Overview We're seeking a hands-on General Manager who can lead a retail team, drive sales, maintain organized operations, and deliver an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, confident in making decisions, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, independent retail environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily store opening, closing, and operations. Lead, train, schedule, and supervise retail employees. Drive sales performance and coach employees on customer service. Manage inventory receiving, stockroom organization, and merchandising. Oversee cash handling, POS procedures, and daily sales reconciliation. Monitor store cleanliness, presentation, and loss prevention. Coordinate online order fulfillment and support e-commerce operations. Maintain employee accountability and handle performance concerns according to company policies. Provide ownership with daily updates and weekly performance reports. Help implement store systems and operating procedures. Qualifications 2+ years of retail supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Experience with POS systems and inventory management. Comfortable working weekends and adapting to changing retail demands. Interest in streetwear, fashion, and retail culture.
