General Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail General Manager to lead and inspire our retail operations. Duties Lead daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning, including managing sales activities, inventory levels, and customer service standards Recruit, interview, train, and develop retail staff to build a high-performing team committed to excellence Supervise employee scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing to optimize productivity and labor costs Implement effective merchandising strategies and oversee stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities Manage purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce shrinkage Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and cash handling procedures Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, reporting, and sales tracking while maintaining accurate bookkeeping records Foster a customer-centric culture by addressing customer inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance team skills and morale Oversee operational management tasks such as budgeting, cost control, and store maintenance Skills Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and operational oversight Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing negotiations Excellent employee orientation skills including interviewing, training & development, and supervising staff Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases effectively Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools Demonstrated ability in retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, and budgeting Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead teams through managerial communication techniques Experience with cashiering procedures, cash handling protocols, and shift management practices Knowledge of retail store product knowledge across various categories such as grocery or general merchandise Organizational skills for managing multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork while maintaining high standards of customer service Basic math skills necessary for daily operations such as cash reconciliation and inventory counts Join us as a Retail General Manager if you're ready to energize your career by leading a vibrant team dedicated to delivering outstanding shopping experiences.
