General Manager (Building Materials & Shelving: Operations, Sales, Fleet)
LRI GROUPAbout us LRI Group Inc. operates Cube ACR and Budget Shelves from our warehouse and walk-in showroom in North York. - Cube ACR supplies metal roofing, flashing and coil, formed and painted in-house on our own brake. - Budget Shelves sells and rents steel shelving to homeowners, contractors and businesses, in-store and through our online (Shopify) store. We're a small, hands-on team, and we're looking for a General Manager to run day-to-day operations and help grow the business. What you'll do - Run daily operations of the warehouse, showroom and yard: opening and closing, scheduling, inventory, receiving and dispatch - Lead and support a small team of staff and casual labour, including training, task assignment and safety - Sell to contractors, roofers and walk-in customers: quote metal roofing, flashing and shelving jobs, follow up on leads, and close orders - Coordinate deliveries and pickups. Look after our box truck and equipment: routine checks, basic maintenance and troubleshooting, booking repairs, and keeping maintenance and safety records - Help on flashing and coil orders: read measurements and drawings, take off quantities, and work with the brake/paint operators on production - Manage shelving rentals: contracts, delivery and installation scheduling, returns and inspections - Keep the online store and systems up to date: Shopify listings and orders, QuickBooks invoices and payables, and Google Workspace (email, calendar, shared sheets) - Order from suppliers, track costs and margins, and report weekly to the owner - Keep the workplace safe and compliant with health and safety requirements Must-haves - 3+ years in a supervisory or management role in construction, building materials, roofing, trades supply, warehouse/distribution or a similar hands-on business - Proven sales or customer-facing experience, with comfort quoting and closing with contractors and the public - Mechanical aptitude: able to do routine inspections and basic maintenance on a truck and shop equipment, and to talk knowledgeably with mechanics - Strong computer skills: e-commerce or POS systems, spreadsheets, email and calendars. Able to learn QuickBooks and Shopify quickly if you haven't used them. - Valid Ontario G driver's licence with a good driving record (this job involves driving our truck) - Able to do warehouse work, including loading and moving shelving and sheet-metal products with equipment or help. We provide accommodation as described below. - Organized and reliable, a clear communicator in English, and able to work independently Nice-to-haves - DZ licence, or willing to get one. We may support training for the right candidate. - Knowledge of metal roofing, flashing, trims or sheet-metal fabrication, including brake operation - Mechanic or automotive/truck experience, or a related trade certificate - Hands-on experience with Shopify, QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace - Experience with estimating, blueprint reading or contractor sales - Forklift and Working at Heights certifications, or willing to get them (we provide required safety training) - Additional languages are an asset for serving our customers What we offer - Steady full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays - Commission on sales plus a quarterly bonus tied to sales and margin targets - Paid on-the-job training.
