AlumaGroup Highrise Solutions Inc.Position Summary The General Labourer / Delivery Driver supports AlumaGroup Highrise Solutions Inc. through safe material transportation, loading and unloading, shop and warehouse support, and general labour at construction sites. The role involves handling aluminum, glass, tools and construction materials while supporting fabrication and installation personnel. A mandatory requirement is proven, hands-on experience towing, maneuvering, and reversing a 24-foot flat-deck pickup trailer, including safely backing into tight spaces. Applicants without this experience do not meet the requirements of the position. The objective is to ensure safe, accurate and timely deliveries, careful material handling, organized operations and dependable assistance across AlumaGroup work areas. 1. Driving, Towing & Trailer Operation Safely operate company pickup trucks and delivery vehicles, including towing a 24-foot flat-deck pickup trailer. Confidently maneuver, reverse, back into tight spaces, park and position a 24-foot flat-deck pickup trailer at shops, suppliers and active construction sites. Connect and disconnect the trailer safely and check the hitch, coupler, safety chains, lights, brakes and other equipment before travel. Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks; report defects, incidents, damage or unsafe conditions promptly. Follow traffic laws, approved routes, delivery schedules and applicable vehicle and trailer operating requirements. 2. Deliveries, Loading & Load Securement Load, unload, carry and transport aluminum, glass, construction materials, tools and equipment safely. Properly secure fragile, oversized and heavy materials to prevent shifting, damage or injury during transit. Check materials against delivery instructions, packing slips and pickup documentation; report discrepancies. Coordinate pickups and deliveries with suppliers, warehouse personnel, installers and site representatives. Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain required delivery confirmations. 3. General Labour & Shop Support Assist with material preparation, measuring, cutting, positioning and assembly under appropriate supervision. Use hand and power tools safely and assist fabrication and installation crews as assigned. Organize stock, tools and materials; maintain clean and safe shop, warehouse, vehicle and site work areas. Operate forklifts or other equipment only when trained, competent and authorized. Perform other reasonable shop, warehouse, delivery and construction support duties as assigned. 4. Mandatory Driving & Physical Qualifications Hold a valid Ontario G Class Driver’s Licence, a clean driving record and provide a current driver’s abstract. MUST have proven experience towing and operating a 24-foot flat-deck pickup trailer. MUST be comfortable and proficient reversing, maneuvering, backing up and parking a 24-foot flat-deck pickup trailer, including in tight spaces. Must have experience loading, securing, transporting and unloading construction materials safely. Must be capable of regularly lifting and carrying materials weighing at least 50 lbs and completing physically demanding work. Must hold the licence class and meet all legal requirements applicable to the actual truck-and-trailer combination used. 5. Safety & Equipment Care Follow AlumaGroup safety procedures, site rules and applicable occupational health and safety requirements. Wear required personal protective equipment and use safe lifting and material-handling methods. Inspect vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment; immediately report hazards, near misses and mechanical concerns. Work at heights only when required training, authorization and protective equipment are in place. Protect company property, customer materials and equipment from loss or damage. 6. Communication, Time Management & Teamwork Arrive punctually, plan daily tasks and complete assigned deliveries and labour duties efficiently.
