Gate Clerk

Overview As a Gate Clerk, you’ll keep shipments moving by coordinating gate activity and maintaining accurate records for incoming and outgoing freight. You’ll work with drivers, warehouse teams, and logistics partners to verify shipment details, support shipping and receiving, and help ensure transactions follow applicable trade compliance and international trade regulations. Your impact: Accurate gate records help warehouse teams and carriers coordinate freight efficiently and keep orders moving to customers. Responsibilities Check in drivers and record arrival, departure, trailer, and shipment information through a warehouse management system, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or other inventory management software. Enter and verify data, review shipping documents, and communicate discrepancies with warehouse and logistics teams. Support shipping logistics, warehouse distribution, inventory management, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations. Coordinate load and unload activity; assist with stocking, packaging, picking and packing, and order picking as needed. Provide clear, helpful customer service to drivers and internal partners while following site procedures. Qualifications Basic math, accurate data entry, Microsoft Office skills, and clear communication. Warehouse experience or familiarity with shipping and receiving, inventory management, and logistics is preferred. Experience with a warehouse management system, inventory management software, ERP systems, MRP (material requirements planning), or AS400 is helpful. Familiarity with order pickers, forklifts, and pallet jacks is preferred; operate equipment only when authorized and trained. Ability to support warehouse tasks, including order fulfillment, load and unload, stocking, and packaging.
