Gate Clerk

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gate Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this vital role, you will manage the entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and shipments at the facility’s gate, ensuring smooth and secure access control. Your responsibilities will include verifying documentation, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate records to support efficient warehouse distribution. Responsibilities Control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers by verifying identification and documentation. Process inbound and outbound shipments using inventory management software and warehouse management systems. Assist with shipping logistics, including loading, unloading, and staging freight using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts. Ensure accurate data entry for all shipments, inventory movements, and delivery logs. Support order fulfillment activities by picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment according to customer specifications. Maintain security protocols by conducting visual inspections of vehicles, cargo, and facility perimeter checks. Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate inventory management tasks like stocking, inventory counts, and order picking. Follow trade compliance guidelines and international trade regulations during shipping processes. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory management software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Basic math skills necessary for order calculations, inventory counts, and data entry accuracy. Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely (certification preferred). Strong customer service skills with a focus on communication and professionalism. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including load & unload processes. Understanding of logistics principles, warehouse distribution practices, and order fulfillment workflows.
