Overview Join our dynamic team as a Gate Clerk, where you will be the first point of contact at our distribution center’s entry point. This vital role ensures smooth and secure operations by managing access, overseeing shipping and receiving activities, and supporting overall warehouse logistics. Your energetic approach will help maintain efficient flow and uphold safety standards, contributing to the seamless functioning of our warehouse environment. Responsibilities Control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers by verifying credentials and maintaining security protocols. Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately using warehouse management systems and RFID scanners. Assist with shipping logistics including loading, unloading, and coordinating freight movements with forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Support inventory management efforts through data entry into inventory management software and ERP systems like AS400 or MRP platforms. Ensure proper packing, stocking, order picking, and order fulfillment to meet customer demands efficiently. Maintain detailed logs of shipments, deliveries, and gate activity while adhering to trade compliance and international trade regulations. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and assisting drivers with documentation or directions. Experience Proven experience working in warehouse operations or distribution centers with familiarity in warehouse management systems and inventory software. Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving processes, order picking & packing, and logistics coordination. Skilled in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers—certifications are a plus. Basic math skills for inventory counts, shipment calculations, and data entry accuracy. Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures including stocking, load & unload activities, and international trade regulations. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools for reporting or communication purposes is advantageous. Prior roles involving warehouse experience or logistics support that demonstrate reliability in fast-paced environments.
