Overview: This position is responsible for activities associated with managing gas supply and transportation contracts within contract or tariff provisions and developing LG&E's strategic gas supply and interstate pipeline transportation plans and policies. The position also supports managing the transportation of customer-owned natural gas to qualifying industrial/commercial customers and accounting, reporting, and analysis activities associated with the purchase of natural gas for LG&E's gas distribution system customers. The position will be filled at the appropriate level according to the successful candidate's level of experience and education. This is a hybrid position working three or more days in the office. #LG&EKU #INDLGE Responsibilities: Assist in the management of gas supply and pipeline transportation contracts to ensure full compliance, performance, and low cost, reliable natural gas supplies. Analyze and evaluate gas commodity and pipeline transportation proposals from suppliers. Use pipeline EBB for making gas supply nominations and accessing pipeline information. Prepare transaction confirmation(s) for gas purchases, off-system sales and pipeline capacity release transactions and ensure execution by counterparty in accordance with the contract. Record transactions in the Gas Supply Purchase Record. Analyze regulations, filings and testimony related to gas supply matters at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Prepare regulatory filing data, reports, and other information for state and federal proceedings. Prepare complex monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and regulatory reports. Support the department’s monthly accounting close processes. Coordinate annual review of department procedures manual and ensure updates are made as required. Perform various complex statistical, cost, and rate analyses within established guidelines. Read industry publications and maintain a working knowledge of current market and regulatory trends. Share findings with the department. Assist in the negotiation of transaction confirmations and new gas NAESB (gas procurement agreements) as needed. Use EE Plexos model and other planning tools to develop short and long-term gas supply plans. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the company’s gas transportation tariff services, including Rate FT and Rider TS-2 and the related pooling services and Rate LGDS. Support departmental activities related to managing these programs. Confirm the accuracy of volumes scheduled by third party suppliers on the interstate pipeline’s website. Work with IT to ensure applications such as Gas Transport Website (GTW) and Gas Nominations Reporting (GNR) that track end-user gas transportation activities are operating as required. Propose, design, support, and test modifications to applications to ensure operation in compliance with tariff provisions, billing, and internal reporting requirements.
