Garden Center Associate

Job Overview Join our vibrant Garden Center team as a Garden Center Associate and be the heart of our outdoor and indoor plant displays! In this energetic role, you'll provide exceptional customer service, assist with plant and gardening product sales, and ensure our garden center remains inviting, organized, and inspiring. Duties Greet customers warmly, answer questions about plants, gardening tools, lawn care, landscape maintenance, and floral design with enthusiasm and expertise Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and outdoor products; provide guidance on plant identification and horticulture best practices Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales, handle cash transactions, and process payments efficiently Maintain well-stocked shelves by merchandising products attractively and restocking inventory as needed Support outdoor work activities such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, planting, watering, pruning, and general garden upkeep Organize and manage stock levels through inventory management; ensure proper labeling and signage for easy customer navigation Engage in e-commerce tasks such as online order fulfillment or updating product listings when applicable Communicate effectively with team members via phone or in person to coordinate daily operations and customer service efforts Skills Strong knowledge of gardening techniques, plant identification, floral design, and horticulture principles Experience with outdoor work activities including lawn care and landscape maintenance Proficiency in POS systems, cashiering, retail math, stock management, and merchandising strategies Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English; multilingual abilities are a plus Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashier duties confidently Organizational skills to manage inventory levels and maintain a tidy store environment Effective phone communication skills for assisting customers remotely or coordinating team efforts Previous experience in retail sales or floral design is desirable; outdoor work experience is highly valued Join us to cultivate your passion for gardening while delivering outstanding service in a lively retail environment.
