Garbage truck driver

Job ResponsibilitiesDrive Routes: Follow specific maps and schedules to pick up trash bins from neighborhoods or businesses.Operate Equipment: Use mechanical arms, levers, or hoists to lift and empty containers into the truck.Inspect Vehicle: Check the truck before and after trips to ensure safe working conditions.Dispose of Waste: Empty the collected materials safely at a local landfill, transfer station, or recycling center.Follow Safety Rules: Obey traffic laws and wear protective gear to prevent accidents.Requirements and QualificationsCommercial Driver's License (CDL): Most jobs require a valid Class B CDL (or Class A for larger trucks).Clean Driving Record: A safe driving history without major violations.Physical Fitness: Ability to sit for long periods, step in and out of the truck frequently, and lift heavy items if needed.Weather Tolerance: Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather (rain, snow, heat).Communication Skills: Ability to talk politely with residents and work well with crew members.If Pay: $38,000.00 - $60,000.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) matching Paid time off Work Location: In person
