Furniture Delivery Driver

Responsibilities Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload furniture items using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring safe lifting practices at all times. Plan and follow optimized delivery routes using mobile devices to ensure timely arrivals and efficient service. Interact professionally with customers during delivery appointments, providing excellent customer service by answering questions and ensuring satisfaction. Verify delivery details, document any damages or discrepancies, and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required. Maintain cleanliness and routine safety checks of the delivery vehicle to ensure optimal operation. Assist with warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management, material handling, and supporting warehouse staff in moving goods. Experience Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier, especially within furniture or large item logistics, is highly preferred but not required Proven ability to operate box trucks or commercial trucks confidently and safely. Experience in warehouse operations or material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks is advantageous. Familiarity with route driving using mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate efficiently. Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and adhering to workplace weight handling standards. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial vehicle operation; a clean driving record is essential.
