Functional Lead - SAP S/4HANA MM / Procurement (Retail & Fashion)

Position Overview We are seeking a high-caliber, hands-on SAP S/4HANA MM / Procurement Functional Lead with an extensive background in Retail and Fashion supply chains . In this critical leadership role, you will design, configure, and optimize our end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Inventory Management processes. You will serve as the principal authority on managing both direct raw materials (fabrics, trims, hardware) and finished goods procurement. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in fashion-specific logistical workflows, multi-channel stock transfers, and complex vendor subcontracting models typical of global apparel production. Core Lead Responsibilities Procurement Architecture & Design: Lead the blueprinting, functional design, and configuration of the SAP S/4HANA MM module, tailored specifically for vertical fashion and retail business models. Direct & Raw Material Sourcing: Configure and manage procurement frameworks for raw materials, establishing seamless workflows from purchase requisition to purchase order (PO) execution, ensuring tight integration with production schedules. Subcontracting Frameworks: Architect and configure end-to-end Subcontracting processes (e.g., Cut-Make-Trim / CMT operations), managing the component provisioning to third-party vendors and tracking inventory balances at vendor sites. Finished Goods & Retail Procurement: Design purchasing models for finished goods across global vendors, incorporating fashion-specific master data (variants, grid/size matrices) and seasonal purchasing windows. Inventory Management & Logistics: Own the design of inventory management workflows, including Stock Transport Orders (STOs) for cross-company and intra-company inventory movements, goods receipts, physical inventory, and transfer postings across multi-tier distribution networks. Cross-Module Integration Ownership: Act as the primary integration anchor between the MM stream and adjacent modules: Fashion/PP: Aligning raw material procurement with production planning matrices. SD/Allocation (ARun): Ensuring inbound stock visibility for automated sales allocations. FICO: Streamlining Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV), automatic account determination, and inventory valuation. Team & Delivery Leadership: Oversee and mentor internal functional analysts and external consulting partners. Drive design reviews, data migration strategies (article master data conversion), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Required Qualifications & Experience Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of hands-on SAP MM configuration experience, with at least 3+ years leading technical teams within a retail, fashion, apparel, or consumer goods corporate environment. S/4HANA Fashion Competency: Proven configuration and delivery experience on the SAP S/4HANA Fashion / FMS / Vertical Business platform. Procurement Subcontracting Mastery: Deep, verifiable experience setting up vendor subcontracting processes involving component explosion, bills of material (BOMs), and tracking external inventory. Advanced Logistics Fluency: Expert-level configuration knowledge of Stock Transport Orders (STOs), multi-step stock transfers, and automated inventory valuation. Leadership & Influence: Strong advisory skills with a history of guiding procurement directors and global sourcing teams through digital ERP transformations. Preferred Qualifications SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement / MM Certification. Experience with SAP Fiori applications customized for buyer dashboards and inventory health monitoring. Familiarity with inbound logistics tracking tools or global trade service (GTS) integration.
