KOOKINGWe are seeking a professional, adaptable, and collaborative Private Chef for a high-end estate in Marin County. This position is ideal for a skilled culinary professional with prior private estate experience who thrives in a dynamic household environment. The chef will take full ownership of the kitchen operations 5 days a week, executing daily meals, snack prep, and periodic interactive events. The household values high-quality, fresh ingredients across a wide variety of cuisines, balancing healthy, clean eating with elevated culinary experiences. LOCATION & LOGISTICS Location: Marin County, CA. (no relocation) Schedule: 5 Days/Week (Tuesday - Saturday). Hours: Daily meal execution centered around a 12:30 PM Lunch, 5:00 PM Child Dinner, and 6:30 PM Adult Dinner, plus Saturday Brunch. Contract: Long-term (12 months minimum). HOUSEHOLD The Household: Two primary adults and one child, with a daily nanny present during working hours. Lunch and dinner are generally prepared for the core family, with flexibility for hosting guests, dinner parties, and periodic family gatherings. The Team: You will work alongside a fully staffed household, collaborating with Housekeepers, Nannies, and a Property Manager. Service Style: Individually plated service. CUISINE & DIETARY PROFILE Culinary Focus: Healthy yet flavorful cooking across a diverse range of global cuisines. Dietary Nuances: The family prefers balanced, healthy meals that remain enjoyable and satisfying. Dietaires will be shared upon confirmed trial. Expertise or willingness to execute baby-led weaning and nutritious child-friendly meals for a toddler. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Daily Meal Execution: Prepare and serve lunch (12:30 PM), child’s dinner (5:00 PM), and adult dinner (6:30 PM), along with Saturday morning brunch. Grab-and-Go & Snack Prep: Keep the household stocked with prepped snacks and quick breakfast items (e.g., nut-free yogurt parfaits, fresh hummus with vegetables). Provisioning & Stocking: Manage all grocery shopping, food sourcing, and inventory management to keep the kitchen fully stocked. Interactive Family Dinners: Facilitate a fun, interactive kids' dinner activity every other week around 5:00 PM (e.g., custom pizza making, cupcake/cake decorating) for the child, extended family, and guests, followed by an early family meal. Hosting & Events: Handle occasional dinner parties and guest entertaining. Kitchen Management: Maintain full oversight, organization, and cleanliness of the estate kitchen (equipped with marble countertops, electric range, and single oven). IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience: Prior private chef experience in a high-end estate setting. Background in baby food prep and baby-led feeding is a strong plus. Reliability: Consistent, dependable, and capable of working independently while maintaining seamless communication with the family and estate staff.
