Borough of SpotswoodThe Borough of Spotswood is seeking a Full-Time Police Dispatcher Applicant must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking the English language Although not required, candidates certified in both Basic Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) will be given preference in the hiring process. Position is subject to a one-year probationary period. Duties include: Receiving calls concerning crimes, emergencies, and other requests for police assistance; monitors and responds to 911 calls. Operating a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) console, a computer aided mobile dispatch (CAD) system, and a Zetron interoperable radio console. Broadcasting orders to patrol officers in vicinity to investigate complaints or requests when appropriate; relays instructions or questions from remote units. Relays radio and telephone messages between police officers and the community. Performing receptionist duties; responds to questions from walk-in and telephone traffic. Controlling access to Police Department secured areas; monitors the department’s closed circuit camera and intercom systems. Performing various clerical duties including completing the electronic dispatch log and filing police reports. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
