Full Time Dispatcher

This role will expose you to new technologies in Class 8 transportation, making it an excellent opportunity to grow in the logistics and transportation field. What We Offer: This part-time Dispatcher role pays $23 per hour and has the potential to transition into a full-time position at WattEV. We’re looking to fill two part-time weekend shifts: Position: Monday - Friday 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM (8 hour Shift) Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary contact for drivers, customers, and terminal operators, maintaining proactive communication to ensure efficient, timely service. Monitor fleet locations through tracking systems and conduct check calls with drivers to confirm they are meeting customer schedules. Communicate effectively to address potential service issues, devising action plans to prevent recurring problems. Assign work orders to drivers, overseeing dispatch for deliveries, legging, street turns, and empty repositioning. Schedule, plan, and execute customer deliveries, coordinating with drivers to ensure appointments are met. Manage container and chassis equipment to avoid demurrage or per diem fees; track last free days and instruct drivers on equipment use to minimize costs. Hold drivers accountable for service standards, safety compliance, and operational directions. Complete beginning-of-day processes accurately, maintain records, and ensure all data is documented on time. Assist with paperwork management, matching documents, and organizing finished records. Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in Transportation Operations or similar logistics roles. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to solve problems creatively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
