Fulfillment Operations Lead Company: YNK Incubator | Location: Elmwood Park, NJ (on site) | Reports to: Director of 3PL Operations Pay: $25 to $30 an hour, based on experience | Type: Full time, hourly | Schedule: Afternoon through close (8 PM), overlapping with the morning lead; one weekend day; longer hours October through January The role YNK Incubator is a growing 3PL in Elmwood Park that ships for ecommerce brands across apparel, beauty and consumer goods. We handle everything from daily direct to consumer orders to wholesale and Amazon FBA shipments, and we're building the team and systems to scale through peak season and beyond. This is a chance to help shape how a growing operation runs, not just fill a shift. The Fulfillment Operations Lead runs outbound for those brands: getting every order printed, picked, packed and shipped accurately and on time, leading the team that does it, and handing the next shift a clean, verified start. This is a working lead role. You'll be on the floor most of the day, and you'll own the result of your shift, not just the tasks. Who you are Smart. You figure out why something went wrong, not just how to get past it today. You learn a new client's rules or a new system quickly. Hard working. You lead from the floor. When the team is behind, you pick, pack and print alongside them. Reliable. You show up on time, every time. When you say something is done, it's done and checked. Adaptable. A truck shows up early, two people call out, a client changes an order at noon. You reset the plan and keep moving. Coachable. You ask for feedback, take it without getting defensive, and apply it the next day. You coach your team the same way. What you'll do Run outbound every day Run daily outbound for all assigned brands: print, pick, pack, scan and ship, with express and oldest orders first Release work in controlled batches so carriers are met and nothing is printed twice Make sure every label printed that day is scanned and handed to its carrier; nothing left behind Check ShipStation and the client ticket queue throughout the day, not only when a problem is raised Lead and allocate the team Assign the team at the start of the shift: who's on which brand, the expected output, and when they move Allocate labor based on order volume, priorities and carrier cutoffs, and adjust through the shift as things change Train new hires on picking, packing and scanning using the training checklist, and confirm they can work on their own Lead short huddles, hold the team to accuracy and pace standards, and coach on the floor Raise attendance and performance issues to the Director early Protect accuracy Catch held, duplicate, fraud flagged and split orders before they're printed Follow each client's special rules: pickup orders, split shipments, wholesale and Amazon FBA orders, custom items Investigate every mispack the same day: what happened, the fix, and how we prevent it Flag product data problems (missing SKUs, locations or barcodes) to systems support right away Support cycle counts, replenishment and inventory organization as needed Cover the afternoon and evening Own end of day carrier pickups with proof of custody once the dock shift ends; no carrier leaves without it Receive late deliveries: count, stage and mark them for verification the next morning Step into whatever gap the afternoon brings, from receiving and counts to returns and client follow ups, so nothing waits until tomorrow Plan and close the day Take over from the morning lead with the plan current: staff count, assignments and open work confirmed at the handoff Feed outbound tasks, hours and people into the Daily Plan of Action, update it at the midday check, and report done or not done at close Close every shift with a verified handoff: next day orders and transfers printed and staged in one visible spot, open exceptions listed with an owner Keep packing stations stocked and flag supplies before they run out Tools you'll use ShipStation: pr…
