Position Summary The Fulfillment Center Supervisor plays a crucial leadership role in executing daily order picking, packing, hydration prep, and shipping operations within our fulfillment and nursery facilities. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager of Fulfillment & Nursery Operations, this role supervises a team of fulfillment associates, ensuring live botanical inventory is handled with utmost care, packaged securely for transit, and dispatched accurately to meet customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Shift Operations Supervise, train, and mentor fulfillment associates, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and safety. Create daily shift assignments and balance staffing across picking, moisture prep, custom packing, and staging stations to meet order volume targets. Lead daily shift huddles to communicate operational goals, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks. Monitor team productivity metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure order throughput standards are consistently achieved. Nursery Fulfillment Oversee proper plant handling and root hydration prep prior to boxing, ensuring live inventory remains healthy throughout transit. Ensure strict compliance with specialized packaging procedures designed to protect delicate stems, pots, and root systems during shipping. Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts in coordination with nursery operations leadership. Manage inventory levels for fulfillment consumables (boxes, moisture wrap, stakes, tape, shipping labels) and maintain line readiness. Quality Assurance & Workplace Safety Perform routine quality checks on outgoing shipments to confirm plant health, order accuracy, proper labeling, and secure box closures. Enforce workplace safety standards, OSHA compliance, and safe equipment operation (forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized carts). Maintain an organized, clean, and safe working environment adhering to 5S lean operational guidelines. Qualifications & Requirements Experience & Background 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a high-volume warehouse, fulfillment center, nursery, or agricultural environment. Familiarity with botanical handling, plant health care, or nursery production is preferred. Hands-on proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory tracking tools, and carrier shipping platforms. Skills & Physical Capabilities Strong interpersonal communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work comfortably in outdoor, greenhouse, and traditional warehouse environments across varying seasonal temperatures. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an active shift. Valid driver's license; forklift certification or willingness to attain certification upon hire.
