Duties Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serves as Office Manager for front-country offices, providing reliable service and administrative functions related to office operations. Provides Aviation and Boating support by planning, organizing, scheduling and cost tracking for the Park's fixed-wing aircraft and watercraft. Involves an understanding of resource availability and capabilities, to include pilot and captain mission requirements and vessel and aircraft payloads and configurations. Provides logistical support, to include directing, developing, or performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission; identifying the specific requirements for money, labor, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and coordinating and expediting of supplies, equipment and staff in support of front-country and backcountry operations Serves as Lead Administrative Assistant to the Aviation and Visitor and Resource Protection Teams. Provides Administrative support to all park staff for travel, property receiving/processing, and purchasing. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 11 months in pay status, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year (months ranging from mid-December to mid-January). Physical Demands : This position involves a combination of office and logistical outdoor/field work that entails walking, lifting, driving, bending, sitting and standing. Physical requirements include climbing in and out of small aircraft and boats as well as loading and unloading freight. Office work is done at a desk with minimal physical exertion. The intensity of the workload and the extensive variety of factors that influence this position may result in significant periods of high intensity that may be stressful. Working Environment: Incumbent's work environment varies from an office setting to an outdoor work environment. Outdoor work may expose incumbent to adverse weather conditions for long periods of time and natural hazards found in the park setting (bears, unstable ground, cold and/or moving water, aviation operations), requiring attention to safety. The outdoor and field work sometimes entails remote operations far from medical assistance.
