Position Summary The Frozen Supervisor provides leadership and direction for the daily operation of the Frozen Department. This position helps ensure frozen merchandise is properly stocked, rotated, organized, and merchandised while maintaining product availability, inventory control, shrink reduction, cleanliness, food safety, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to associates working in the Frozen Department. Ensure frozen cases, shelves, endcaps, and displays remain fully stocked, organized, clean, and visually appealing. Stock and replenish frozen foods, ice cream, frozen meals, vegetables, desserts, and other department merchandise as needed. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering to maintain appropriate product quantities. Receive, organize, and properly store incoming frozen merchandise. Follow proper product rotation procedures and regularly check expiration and sell-by dates. Monitor product quality and promptly remove damaged, expired, thawed, or unsellable merchandise. Maintain proper cold-chain procedures and ensure frozen products remain at appropriate temperatures. Assist with inventory management and identify opportunities to reduce shrink, damages, and product loss. Maintain organized backstock to support efficient stocking and replenishment. Ensure promotional and advertised products are properly stocked, displayed, and signed. Maintain accurate pricing, shelf tags, and product placement throughout the department. Build and maintain displays according to merchandising standards and promotional plans. Monitor department conditions throughout the shift and respond quickly to low-stock and out-of-stock items. Maintain clean and organized freezers, cases, shelves, backroom storage areas, and workspaces. Ensure freezer doors, shelves, and display areas remain clean and free of excessive frost, ice, or debris. Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety requirements. Ensure associates safely use stocking equipment and follow proper frozen product-handling procedures. Communicate inventory concerns, out-of-stocks, equipment or temperature issues, staffing needs, and other operational concerns to store leadership. Assist with opening and closing responsibilities as assigned. Support other departments and store operations as needed. Leadership Expectations Lead by example and maintain a professional, positive, and productive work environment. Provide associates with clear assignments, expectations, and appropriate follow-up. Train and coach associates on stocking, rotation, merchandising, food safety, and Frozen Department standards. Monitor associate productivity and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently. Promote teamwork, accountability, urgency, and excellent customer service. Maintain a visible presence in the department and respond quickly to customer and associate needs. Adjust priorities based on freight volume, inventory levels, staffing, and business needs. Identify opportunities to improve product availability, department organization, merchandising, and shrink. Communicate equipment or refrigeration concerns promptly to appropriate leadership.
