The Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS) Front of House & Venue Operations Manager leads the Front of House (FOH) team, which is responsible for all FOH operations from arrival to the end of each concert, ensuring exemplary customer service and safety to all AMFS patrons. The FOH team is a team of nine, led by the Front of House & Venue Operations Manager and Assistant Front of House Manager, and is present for all open concerts, rehearsals and events which occur at the festival's main performance venues in Aspen, Colorado. These facilities include our 2050-seat Klein Music Tent and the 500-seat Harris Concert Hall. Additionally, the FOH team is involved in events in the local Aspen Community, including recitals at Aspen Chapel, Aspen Center for Physics, Pitkin County Library, and more.  


Responsibilities

  • Train and manage all members of the FOH team, outlining duties, house rules, and service expectations, including scanning tickets, greeting audiences, and properly addressing audience conflict or misconduct and issues regarding safety of our patrons. 
  • Hire and coordinate the AMFS student usher team.
  • Manage and maintain the AMFS relationship of volunteer ushers in conjunction with the Assistant Front of House Manager.
  • Prepare each venue before every event, ensure program books are stocked, and AMFS signage/materials are up to date.
  • Ensure all venue entry points are staffed and set up at the proper time prior to concert start.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Ticket Services to forecast and mitigate ticketing and seating issues during high-traffic events.
  • Address all issues that arise related to seating or the Front of House in a professional and service-driven manner.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Ticket Services to reconcile ticket sales, scans, and counts to ensure accurate attendance data.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Director to maintain the venues. 
  • Manage parking operations on the Meadows Campus during AMFS open events. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must have management experience, preferably within a presentation hall.
  • Familiarity with classical music and orchestral practice is a plus.
  • Must possess an outgoing demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Candidates must be able to prioritize well and complete multiple tasks quickly, efficiently, and calmly.
  • A humble and durable sense of humor is strongly advised.

Dates

Pre-season part-time remote work: February 11, 2026-June 10, 2026 (10 hours/week for 4 weeks, to assist in hiring the Assistant Front of House Manager, House Managers, and Lead Ushers.)

Season: June 11, 2026-August 23, 2026


Compensation

Pre-season: $30.11/hour

Season: $1,204.26/week plus housing provided by AMFS.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
