Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Freight Train Conductor and become a vital part of rail transportation operations. In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient movement of freight trains, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Your leadership on the train will help maintain smooth operations, safeguard personnel and cargo, and uphold the highest safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, coordinate train movements, and contribute to the vital infrastructure that keeps industries moving forward. Responsibilities Operate and control freight trains in accordance with train operation regulations and rail transportation safety regulations. Conduct pre-departure inspections, including checking air brake systems, mechanical components, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use to ensure safety readiness. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and crew members to coordinate train movements, switching operations, and emergency responses. Participate in safety training programs regularly to stay current on hazard management, safety protocol adherence, and rail regulatory compliance. Use hand tools and operate heavy equipment safely during coupling, decoupling, or track maintenance activities as needed. Ensure all personnel follow personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety procedures throughout operations. Qualifications Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate and understand English. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement and extreme temperatures. Mechanical knowledge of train systems, air brake mechanisms, and heavy equipment is a plus. Comply with all company and FRA safety procedures, policies, and rules including wearing required safety equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
