MPR Logistics LLCOverview Join our dynamic team as a Freight Supervisor in New Mexico, where you'll lead the coordination and management of transportation operations. As a key player in our distribution center, you will oversee daily freight activities, ensure efficient inventory control, and uphold safety standards to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence. Duties Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement. Coordinate with logistics partners and 3PL providers to optimize transportation schedules and freight movement. Implement process improvements using lean management principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste across warehouse operations. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Communicate effectively with team members and management through managerial communication practices to align goals and resolve issues promptly. Monitor freight moving through multiple locations and confirm pickups, deliveries, and PODs are complete and accurate Verify orders in our transportation management system, catching and correcting errors before they reach billing Track trucks and driver hours using GPS and ELD tools Work in the warehouse as needed: receiving, staging, and checking freight against paperwork Driver Support Serve as a go-to contact for drivers during the shift Billing & 1099 Pay Help review completed orders for accurate rates, accessorial, and documentation before invoicing Assist with weekly 1099 independent contractor settlements, confirming loads, stops, and pay are correct Flag discrepancies and help resolve billing and pay questions Fleet Readiness Review driver pre-trip and post-trip inspections and follow up on defects Make sure trucks are safe, compliant, and road-ready, and coordinate maintenance and repairs when needed Help keep equipment, paperwork, and DOT-related records organized Help drivers work through delays, refused or damaged freight, address issues, accessorial situations, breakdowns, and schedule changes Coordinate with dispatch and customers to keep freight moving and keep everyone informed Qualifications Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, materials handling equipment operation, and logistics processes. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards. Mechanical knowledge related to material handling equipment operation (e.g., forklifts) is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and communication purposes. Knowledge of lean management principles and process improvement strategies to streamline warehouse workflows. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety protocols; physical stamina for demanding warehouse tasks. Familiarity with OSHA regulations, 3PL operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and e-commerce fulfillment is a plus.
