Freight Solutions Specialist (On-Call Crating)

A freight warehouse in Round Rock is hiring an experienced crating and freight specialist for on-call work. You will build custom wood crates and prepare artwork, furniture and high-value freight for shipment. This is hands-on work that requires practical carpentry skills, accurate measurements and safe equipment operation. Photos of your work are required. Applications without examples of crates or carpentry you have built will not be considered. Schedule On-call work based on freight jobs Hours vary by week and shifts are scheduled as projects come in Advance notice provided whenever possible No guaranteed weekly hours Responsibilities Build custom wood crates for freight shipments Measure, cut and assemble lumber and protective materials Pack artwork, furniture and high-value items for transport Operate saws, drills and other power tools safely Use pallet jacks and help load, unload and receive shipments Keep the warehouse work area clean and safe Requirements Hands-on crating or carpentry experience required Ability to read measurements and work accurately Experience with woodworking tools and equipment Familiarity with ISPM-15 heat-treated lumber preferred Ability to lift 50 pounds Own reliable transportation to the Round Rock warehouse Dependable attendance and ability to follow safety procedures Ability to pass a background check No notary commission is required for this position. Pay $17 to $20 per hour depending on experience. Hours are based on available freight projects.
