MERCEDES TRANSPORTATION LLCFreight Sales & Business Development Manager Bilingual English / Spanish Company: Mercedes Transportation LLC Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $900 per week base salary + commission Annual Base Salary: $46,800 + commission About the Position Mercedes Transportation LLC is seeking a motivated and results-driven Freight Sales & Business Development Manager to help expand our direct customer base. The primary focus of this position is to identify and contact potential shippers, develop new business relationships, negotiate transportation opportunities, and secure direct freight contracts for our trucking operations. This is a sales and business development position. The ideal candidate should be comfortable making outbound calls, contacting businesses, building relationships with decision-makers, negotiating freight opportunities, and consistently following up with prospective customers. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Key Responsibilities Prospect and identify potential direct shippers and freight customers. Make outbound calls and send professional emails to prospective customers. Contact manufacturers, distributors, warehouses, importers, exporters, wholesalers, and other businesses with transportation needs. Identify and communicate with logistics managers, transportation managers, shipping managers, supply chain managers, and other decision-makers. Introduce and professionally present Mercedes Transportation LLC's transportation capabilities. Identify customer transportation requirements, including lanes, shipment frequency, freight volume, equipment needs, pickup requirements, and delivery expectations. Develop new direct-shipper accounts and long-term customer relationships. Negotiate freight rates, lanes, service terms, and transportation opportunities. Assist with preparing and coordinating transportation agreements and customer contracts. Request and respond to freight opportunities, lane bids, RFQs, and transportation proposals. Follow up consistently with prospects until opportunities are converted into active accounts. Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, active opportunities, follow-ups, and existing customers. Coordinate with dispatch and operations before committing capacity or transportation services to customers. Maintain accurate records of customer communications, quotes, rates, contracts, lanes, and opportunities. Develop existing accounts by identifying additional lanes and freight opportunities. Communicate professionally with customers and business partners in both English and Spanish. Meet established sales, customer acquisition, and business development goals. Represent Mercedes Transportation LLC professionally in all customer communications. Qualifications Bilingual English / Spanish – Required Strong spoken and written English communication skills. Strong sales and negotiation skills. Excellent telephone and professional email communication skills. Comfortable making cold calls and contacting businesses that have not previously worked with the company. Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working toward sales goals. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously. Basic computer and CRM skills. Previous experience in trucking, logistics, transportation, freight sales, supply chain, or B2B sales is preferred. Experience working directly with shippers is a plus. Compensation Base Pay: $900 per week ($46,800 annually) Plus Commission: Additional commission opportunities are available based on new direct customers and freight business generated.
