WE HAVE AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR AN EXPERIENCED FREIGHT SALES  - LOGISTICS SPECIALIST

Overview

The Logistics Specialist/Freight Sales role reports to the Transportation Manager. The Logistics Specialist/Freight Sales will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically with the sales and coordination of front and back haul business opportunities. 


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for making prospecting calls and developing relationships with customers in need of freight transportation;
  • Responsible for coordinating freight movements for over-the-road trucks and backhaul freight;
  • Nurtures these relationships through consistently positive interactions and award-winning customer service;
  • Negotiates and builds relationships with shippers and carriers;
  • Facilitates successful pick-up, delivery and over the road assistance;
  • Collaborates with other departments to resolve delivery issues and improve customer satisfaction;
  • Acts in a stewardship capacity for the Company, works as a functional member of the team, has ability to self-direct and self-regulate work-day.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Placement Criteria

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, or 3+ years in the field or in a related area, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT HOS Regulations and OSHA regulations;
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and electronic log systems;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills;
  • Problem solver with the ability to implement process improvement;
  • Strong critical thinking skills;
  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively via email, verbally, and in presentations, tailoring your messaging to the appropriate level of audience
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload, and make adjustments to meet business needs;
  • The ability to ensure premises, assets and communications ways are used effectively;
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with internal and external partners;

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear.
