Freight Preparation Specialist

Job Overview SHETLER/DERBY MOVING & STORAGE, LLC is hiring a dependable Freight Preparation Specialist to support shipping, warehouse, and transportation operations. You’ll prepare and secure freight, verify shipments and documentation, and help ensure orders move safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Prepare, package, label, palletize, and secure freight for transportation. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition. Verify BOLs, manifests, inventory records, and shipping documentation. Coordinate shipment schedules with warehouse and transportation teams. Operate pallet jacks and forklifts when certified. Organize staging and storage areas and assist with inventory counts. Update shipment and inventory information in company systems. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in freight, shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer and inventory-system skills. Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently. Forklift certification is a plus, but not required.
