About Us: We are a straight-to-the-point, independent logistics team based in a small Richmond, BC office. Operating as Cargo Spectrum , we are an established global freight forwarder that has been in the business for 22 years (since 2004) . We maintain a relaxed, down-to-earth office environment where our operations staff handle complete files from A to Z and directly impact our success. If you are a seasoned logistics professional with solid Canadian freight forwarding / logistics experience looking to escape the corporate grind and manage a desk with true independence, we want to hear from you. The Role: We are seeking a highly capable Freight Operations Specialist who can step in to manage this hands-on operations role and handle international and domestic shipments from start to finish. Because we are a small team, you won't be micro-managed. You will oversee the complete lifecycle of your shipments and have true ownership over your files. Heads up: This is an experienced position, not an entry-level job or a role for recent graduates. You must already have at least 4 years of recent Canadian freight forwarding / logistics experience. Required Experience & Qualifications (Strictly Enforced): Experience: Minimum of 4 years of recent, hands-on Canadian freight forwarding/logistics operations experience. Autonomy: Ability to step into a busy operations environment, work independently, manage multiple shipments and priorities, and provide excellent service to our customers. Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international air/ocean freight, domestic logistics, carriers, routing, CBSA / eManifest compliance, and Canada Customs. Tech Savvy: Strong familiarity with standard cargo management systems, various airline and steamship line online portals, CBSA eManifest portal, and Microsoft Office. Logistics & Travel: Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for regular, local trips to Canada Customs and airline warehouses at YVR. Fit: A reliable, practical professional who prefers a small-office environment over a giant corporate floor. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate, optimize, and track complex domestic and international freight movements. Manage documentation, carrier bookings, customs coordination, and customer updates from pickup to final delivery. Independently troubleshoot and resolve operational delays, tracking discrepancies, or routing issues. Maintain strong, direct relationships with customers, trucking companies, airlines, steamship lines, customs brokers, and overseas agents. Why Join a Small Team?
