Freight & Logistics Operations Coordinator

Job Overview CARGO EXPRESS LEZAMA J LLC. is seeking a dependable and organized Freight & Logistics Operations Coordinator to manage shipment scheduling, freight tracking, dispatch support, and delivery coordination. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, communicating with logistics partners, and keeping transportation operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Coordinate freight shipments, pickups, deliveries, and transportation schedules. Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers, drivers, and carriers. Schedule delivery appointments and coordinate changes, delays, and route adjustments. Communicate with brokers, warehouses, carriers, drivers, and logistics partners. Prepare and maintain bills of lading, rate confirmations, delivery receipts, invoices, and shipping records. Update shipment information in TMS, dispatch software, and internal databases. Support load planning, carrier assignments, and transportation capacity management. Monitor delivery performance, transportation costs, and key operational metrics. Investigate shipment delays, damaged freight, shortages, and documentation discrepancies. Assist with freight claims and maintain accurate incident records. Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure shipments are properly prepared and dispatched. Support process improvements while following company procedures, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and safety standards. Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, freight coordination, transportation, dispatch, trucking, or supply chain operations preferred. Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with internal and external partners. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, business administration, or a related field. Experience with TMS, ERP, WMS, dispatch software, or fleet management systems. Familiarity with FTL/LTL freight, regional and long-haul transportation, and expedited shipments. Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs). Advanced Excel skills and experience preparing logistics reports.
