Freight Handling Technician

Job Description: DIAMOND CARGO EXPRESS is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Freight Handling Technician to support daily freight and cargo operations. The technician will be responsible for safely receiving, moving, loading, unloading, sorting, and preparing shipments for transportation while maintaining accurate handling procedures. Key Responsibilities: Load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, and other transportation equipment. Move, sort, stack, and organize cargo according to shipment requirements. Inspect freight for visible damage and report discrepancies or handling issues. Verify shipment labels, quantities, and identifying information. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation and handling. Operate material-handling equipment in accordance with company safety procedures. Maintain organized loading and storage areas. Assist with receiving and dispatching freight shipments. Follow workplace safety procedures and proper lifting techniques. Communicate with warehouse, dispatch, and transportation personnel to ensure efficient freight movement. Complete basic shipment and handling documentation as required. Qualifications: Previous experience in freight handling, warehousing, logistics, or a related field is preferred. Ability to lift, carry, and move freight safely. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a physically active environment. Basic understanding of warehouse and freight-handling procedures. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow safety instructions and company procedures.
