Freight Brokerage Operations Assistant Core Freight Services is looking for a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Freight Brokerage Operations Assistant to join our team. You will receive hands-on training in all aspects of freight brokerage and gradually take on more responsibility as you develop your knowledge and confidence. Prior experience is a plus, but not a requirement. We can provide all necessary training on the job. Job Description Creating and sending carrier rate confirmations Tracking and tracing shipments and providing timely status updates Communicating with drivers and carriers regarding pickup and delivery schedules Working with carriers to negotiate competitive rates and secure the best transportation options for our customers Building and maintaining positive relationships with our carrier network Communicating directly with customers regarding shipment status, scheduling, and other transportation needs Coordinating with customers, carriers, and internal team members to resolve issues that arise during transit Monitoring loads to ensure pickups and deliveries occur as scheduled Entering and maintaining accurate shipment information in our transportation/CRM systems Reviewing and organizing transportation documents Learning industry terminology, equipment types, lanes, market conditions, and freight brokerage procedures Eventually learning how to quote customer loads, analyze market rates, and develop profitable transportation solutions Taking on additional responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow Compensation Pay will begin at $500 per week for those with no experience. Starting pay is negotiable based upon previous relevant work experience. After a 90 day probationary period, pay will increase to at least $800 per week and you will be eligible for company health insurance. There will be opportunities for future growth and bonuses based on performance.
