Role Description The Freight Broker is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of vehicle and freight shipments, serving as the primary point of contact between customers and carriers. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing and negotiating with carriers, arranging LTL and FTL loads, monitoring shipment status, and resolving issues to ensure on-time delivery. The role also involves building and maintaining client and carrier relationships, providing proactive customer updates, handling rate quotes, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company policies. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, combining on-site collaboration with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and load coordination. Strong Customer Service and Account Management abilities to support client relationships and deliver clear, timely communication. Experience with Dispatching, including scheduling, tracking, and updating shipments across multiple modes of transport. Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including LTL/FTL freight, vehicle transport, and related industry regulations. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), spreadsheets, and standard office software. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities. Relevant experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, and further education in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
