Guardian Utility LocatorsOverview We are hiring an experienced freight broker with an established customer book to run and grow freight for the company. The broker owns their customer relationships, brings existing shippers to Interlink, and manages each load from quote through delivery and payment. Pay is a base annual amount plus a bonus tied to freight landed. Based in London, Kentucky. Key Duties and Responsibilities The broker is responsible for the full life of each load, and for growing the book of business behind it. Manage and grow an existing customer book, keeping current accounts satisfied and winning new lanes and volume from them. Prospect and develop new shipper accounts through outreach, referrals, and follow-up. Quote competitive rates, negotiate with customers and carriers, and protect margin on every load. Source, vet, and onboard carriers, and confirm they meet Interlink's carrier packet requirements, including authority, insurance, and signed agreements. Book and cover loads, issue rate confirmations, and dispatch carriers with clear pickup and delivery instructions. Track freight in transit, give customers proactive updates, and resolve delays or service issues quickly. Collect and verify the BOL and proof of delivery for every load, and confirm customer PO numbers and reference details are correct. Work with the finance team so invoices are accurate and sent promptly, and follow up on past-due accounts. Handle claims and exceptions professionally, document everything in writing, and keep all parties informed. Keep customer, carrier, and load records current in Interlink's systems. Meet or exceed monthly and annual freight volume and margin goals. Qualifications and Experience We are looking for a proven broker who can bring customers with them and who is driven to build something. Previous experience as a freight broker, with a documented track record of landing and moving freight. An established book of customers who will move freight through Interlink. Working knowledge of truckload freight, rate negotiation, carrier vetting, and load coverage. Familiarity with brokerage paperwork, including rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, certificates of insurance, and broker-carrier agreements. Strong communication skills, with the discipline to keep details in writing so every party is clear on expectations. Comfort with a TMS, load boards, email, and standard office software. Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the drive to hit goals without close supervision. Reliable, professional, and accountable to customers, carriers, and the team. Willingness to be a long-term part of building Interlink Logistics. Compensation The role pays a base annual amount plus a bonus structure based on freight landed.
