About MCST Logistics MCST Logistics is a growing third-party logistics (3PL) company specializing in freight transportation and logistics. We work with shippers and reliable motor carriers to coordinate efficient, safe, and cost-effective transportation across the United States. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and dependable Freight Broker Assistant to support our brokerage team with day-to-day operations and help ensure shipments move smoothly from pickup to delivery. Position Overview The Freight Broker Assistant will work closely with our freight brokers and operations team to coordinate shipments, communicate with carriers and customers, maintain accurate records, and assist with the administrative side of freight brokerage. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in the transportation and logistics industry. Responsibilities Assist freight brokers with daily shipment and operational tasks Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal team members Help locate and contact qualified carriers for available loads Assist with carrier onboarding and documentation Collect and verify carrier packets, W-9s, insurance certificates, and other required documents Assist with verifying carrier authority and insurance information Help monitor shipments from pickup through delivery Track and update shipment information in our transportation management systems Follow up with carriers regarding pickup times, delivery appointments, and shipment status Assist with rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other freight documentation Enter and maintain accurate information in company systems Help identify and resolve shipment issues or delays Assist brokers with customer and carrier communication Perform general administrative and organizational duties as needed What We're Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Strong attention to detail Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Comfortable speaking with customers, carriers, and drivers by phone Professional and confident communication style Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly Reliable, punctual, and accountable Ability to work independently while also being a team player Strong problem-solving skills Previous experience in freight brokerage, trucking, logistics, transportation, dispatch, or customer service is a plus but not required THIS IS A PERFECT ENTRY LEVEL POSITION What We Offer Competitive compensation Opportunity for growth within the company Training and hands-on experience in the freight brokerage industry Fast-paced and entrepreneurial work environment Opportunity to develop valuable logistics, sales, and operations skills Health insurance, PTO, bonuses, 401(k) Who Will Succeed in This Role?
