Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Freight Broker at Hillcrest Connect Solutions. The Freight Broker will source, negotiate, and secure freight capacity with carriers/customers while matching transportation solutions to customer needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing load tenders, coordinating dispatching activities, tracking shipments, and resolving service issues to ensure on-time delivery. The role involves building and maintaining strong account relationships, providing proactive customer updates, and identifying opportunities to improve cost, service, and efficiency. The Freight Broker will collaborate with internal teams, use HCS’s technology tools for real-time visibility, and maintain accurate documentation and records in line with company and regulatory standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including negotiating rates and securing carrier capacity. Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills to manage inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive client and carrier relationships. Candidates should possess Dispatching skills to coordinate loads, monitor transit, and ensure timely pickup and delivery. Candidates should possess Account Management skills to grow existing accounts, develop new business, and maintain accurate records. Relevant additional qualifications: knowledge of transportation regulations and market dynamics; proficiency with TMS and logistics software; strong communication and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work independently in a remote setting. Preferred experience: prior work in 3PL, trucking, or freight brokerage; familiarity with data-driven logistics; and an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
