Role Description The Freight Agent role at Billo Logistics LLC is a full-time, remote position responsible for coordinating and managing freight shipments from pick-up to delivery. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing and booking carriers, negotiating rates, tracking loads, and ensuring all shipment details are accurately documented in company systems. The Freight Agent communicates regularly with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and maintain strong professional relationships. This role involves verifying compliance with relevant regulations, managing necessary paperwork, and proactively addressing delays or service disruptions. The Freight Agent is expected to work independently, prioritize multiple shipments, and contribute to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Experience in freight brokerage, logistics coordination, or transportation management, with strong understanding of shipping processes and carrier networks. Proficiency with logistics software, load boards, and common office tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email, and communication platforms). Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with carriers and customers. Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, including contracts, rate confirmations, and shipment records. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under time pressure, especially when managing delays or service issues. Comfort working remotely, with a reliable internet connection and the discipline to work independently and meet performance targets. Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is highly preferred; a relevant certification or associate/bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
