FORKTRUCK MATERIAL HANDLER - M-F 7am-3pm

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Fork Truck Material Handler to join our METAL FABRICATION team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating SIT-DOWN FORK TRUCKS MOVING HEAVY STEEL. This role requires WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MOVING STEEL within OSHA safety standards, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth and safe STEEL ORGANIZATION TO MAXIMIZE EFFICIENCIES. Duties Operate sit-down forklifts to MOVE STEEL AROUND FABRICATION PLANT. Load, unload, AND ORGANIZE HEAVE STEEL shipments. Assist with shipping & receiving processes to maintain timely delivery schedules Perform heavy lifting and material handling tasks safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines Use mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance when necessary, INCLUDING CHANGING PROPANE TANKS. Support FABRICATION PLANT by organizing STEEL stock and maintaining a clean work environment Organizing steel material and skids to maximize efficiency. Coordinate with PLANT MANAGER AND supervisors for efficient workflow and inventory control Experience MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MOVING HEAVY STEEL WITH SIT DOWN FORK TRUCK (this is not a position for someone who was a picker of cardboard boxes in a warehouse) Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes. Natural competency for organization. Knowledge of warehouse management systems Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety Mechanical aptitude and experience with heavy lifting are beneficial for success in this role This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic warehouse environment requiring safety-conscious operation of heavy equipment and efficient materials handling.
