Forklift Trainer and Safety Associate *Direct Hire*

Job Description We are an injection molding manufacturing company based in Lake Forest, IL, seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forklift Trainer and Safety Associate to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks associated with occupational health. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to effectively implement safety protocols across all teams. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide training and development programs on safety practices, including CPR, first aid, and emergency response. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance reports. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization. Stay updated on changes in occupational health regulations and best practices in workplace safety. Assist in managing workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers' compensation law. Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) principles. Proficient in CPR and first aid techniques. Familiarity with occupational health standards and regulations. In-depth understanding of OSHA guidelines and EPA regulations. Knowledge of workers' compensation processes and laws. Excellent training development skills for creating effective safety programs. Strong report writing abilities for documenting incidents, audits, and compliance activities. Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences. Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required as additional hours may be necessary depending on the start and end times, such as arriving early or staying late.
