Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker

Forklift / Stand-Up Forklift Driver Position Summary Responsible for safely and efficiently operating sit-down forklifts and stand-up/reach forklifts to move, load, unload, stage, and store materials and products throughout the warehouse. Ensure accurate product handling while following company safety procedures and established warehouse practices. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts and stand-up/reach forklifts safely and efficiently. Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and other delivery vehicles. Transport pallets, raw materials, finished products, supplies, and other materials throughout the facility. Place and retrieve palletized materials from warehouse racks and designated storage locations. Operate forklifts in narrow aisles and confined warehouse areas when required. Perform put-away, replenishment, staging, and order-picking activities. Inspect forklifts before and during operation and report mechanical or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor. Verify product, pallet, and location information to ensure materials are stored and moved accurately. Use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, scanners, and other material-handling equipment as assigned. Safely stack and unstack pallets and materials while maintaining load stability. Follow designated traffic patterns, speed limits, pedestrian safety procedures, and facility safety rules. Maintain awareness of pedestrians, other equipment operators, racks, doors, loading docks, and other potential hazards. Assist with inventory movement and warehouse organization. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and promptly report spills, damaged pallets, damaged products, or unsafe conditions. Complete required paperwork, inventory transactions, or electronic scanning accurately. Perform additional warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned. Equipment Commonly Operated Sit-down forklift Stand-up forklift Electric forklift Pallet jack Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb as required. Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver materials within the applicable job requirements. Ability to work in warehouse environments that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and busy equipment-traffic areas. Ability to visually inspect loads, pallets, racks, equipment, and work areas for safety and accuracy. Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience preferred. Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up/reach forklifts preferred. Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, labels, and warehouse documentation. Ability to safely maneuver equipment in warehouse aisles and around pedestrians. Strong attention to safety and detail. Reliable attendance and ability to work independently and as a team. Forklift training/certification Must be able to work overtime as needed, including extended hours, based on business and operational requirements. Typical Work Functions The position may involve receiving materials, unloading trucks, moving inventory, stocking and replenishing warehouse locations, retrieving products, staging orders, loading outbound shipments, and maintaining organized warehouse storage areas.
