Forklift Driver / Order Picker Construx Building Products is looking for a Forklift Driver / Order Picker to join our team. Benefits Medical and dental benefits RRSP matching Biweekly pay with direct deposit Position Summary We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Driver / Order Picker to support our shop and material handling operations. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that involves safely operating a forklift, receiving and moving lumber and building materials, preparing materials for production, and picking orders accurately based on specifications. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping materials organized and production moving efficiently. Experience operating a 10-ton forklift is an asset. Hours This is a full-time position working: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wage Between $20 - $26 per hour based on experience Job Duties Safely operate a forklift to move lumber, wall panels, and other building materials Pick lumber and materials according to shop orders and specifications Prepare and stage materials for prefabrication and production Unload incoming trucks and organize received materials Load outgoing trucks with wall panels, lumber, and other building materials Move and organize materials throughout the shop and yard Work with the production team to ensure required materials are available when needed Verify materials and quantities to ensure orders are accurate Handle lumber and building materials safely and efficiently Assist with inventory organization and material storage Assist in the shop with orders and other duties as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard Complete required safety documentation and equipment inspections Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements Qualifications The following qualifications are required: Valid forklift certification Experience operating a 10-ton forklift is an asset Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience Experience working as an Order Picker or in a material handling position Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to and from work (there is no public transit to our location) Ability to safely load, unload, move, and organize lumber and building materials Physically capable of performing labour-intensive work in a fabrication shop and yard environment Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow order specifications Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Safety-conscious and dependable The following would be considered assets: Knowledge of lumber and building materials Experience working in a lumber yard, manufacturing facility, or construction environment Framing or carpentry experience Experience loading and unloading trucks Work Conditions Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regular work around forklifts, machinery, vehicles, and moving mechanical equipment Work takes place both indoors and outdoors Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather Exposure to dust and intermittent loud noise Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs , as well as regularly push, pull, carry, bend, and reach Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination Requires the ability to remain physically active throughout the shift Exposure to hazards commonly associated with construction, manufacturing, and material-handling environments Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour Benefits: Dental care Extended health care On-site parking RRSP match Application question(s): Do you have a valid Forklift License?
