Forklift Operator – Multi-Trim Saw Loader

Pay: $15.00–$17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

operate a forklift, move lumber, keep material supplied to the saw line, and help keep the lumber yard organized.
What You’ll Do
• Operate a forklift safely throughout the workday.
• Move bundles of wood to the Multi-Trim Saw.
• Read the production schedule to select the correct size and type of material.
• Cut bands and load cants onto the saw conveyor.
• Help unload incoming trucks.
• Check incoming material for quality and quantity.
• Keep the Southern Yellow Pine lumber yard organized.
• Empty dumping hoppers and help keep the work area clean.
• Complete a forklift inspection before each shift.
• Report equipment or safety problems promptly.
What We’re Looking For
No specific education or previous experience is required.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can safely operate and control a forklift.
• Communicates well with supervisors and coworkers.
• Works well as part of a production team.
• Pays attention to safety.
• Can keep materials organized and production moving.
Preferred, but not required:
• 1+ year of forklift experience.
• Experience in a sawmill, pallet plant, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certification.
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active industrial job that is primarily outdoors.
You should be comfortable with:
• Sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
• Frequently operating and maneuvering a forklift.
• Occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Working around noise and dust.
• Working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
