Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Summary You’ll be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, managing inventory, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. Experience in loading and unloading structural steel loads ( 40' trailers ) for delivery. Your proactive approach to safety, combined with your ability to handle heavy loads will be important. You would be working directly under shop foreman supervision only serious applicants need apply. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift trucks, including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and load & unload heavy materials in accordance with OSHA and safety standards Assist with order picking using order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders efficiently and accurately. Support shipping & receiving activities by loading and unloading shipments, verifying shipment contents against documentation, and ensuring proper storage. Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure all materials handling equipment operates at peak safety and efficiency levels. Follow manual handling and heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse operations, improve inventory accuracy, and streamline distribution processes. Experience Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, heavy equipment operation, manual handling techniques, and safety standards outlined by OSHA. Demonstrated commitment to safety standards in production environments with knowledge of forklift safety protocols.
