Sit Down - Forklift Driver / Material Handler Position Summary The Forklift Driver / Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, storing, and organizing raw materials, finished products, packaging materials, and other warehouse items. This position supports daily warehouse and production operations by ensuring materials are available when needed and stored properly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate a forklift safely to move materials, pallets, ingredients, and finished products. Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles. Move materials between the warehouse, production areas, and storage locations. Verify quantities, labels, lot numbers, and product information when receiving or moving materials. Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Stage materials and products for production and shipping. Keep warehouse, production, and storage areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Follow proper procedures for handling food ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products. Perform basic warehouse duties, including palletizing, wrapping, labeling, and organizing products. Inspect forklifts and other material-handling equipment before use and report any damage or mechanical problems. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established operating procedures. Assist with loading and preparing customer orders for shipment. Perform other warehouse or material-handling duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred. Forklift certification or willingness to complete company forklift training. Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work on your feet for extended periods. Basic ability to read labels, work orders, and inventory information. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment. Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish) Work Environment May be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Position may require overtime, weekends, or holidays based on business needs. Performance Expectations The employee is expected to: Prioritize safety at all times. Handle materials carefully to minimize damage and product loss. Maintain accurate inventory and documentation. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Communicate material shortages, damaged products, inventory discrepancies, and equipment issues to the supervisor promptly. Follow company policies and procedures consistently. Hourly Rate: $16.00 Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
