Forklift Operator/Inventory

FUNCTION: Track, handle, unload and deliver various materials to proper location and machine centers by use of “side loader” forklift or similar equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Part handling – movement from machine centers to staging areas via forklift or similar equipment. · Loading and unloading deliveries, including gas cylinders, pallets, raw steel materials, etc. · Verify/confirm that materials ordered vs. received is accurate – i.e., heat numbers, length, job number. · Bill of Lading submitted with correct location (inventory controller). · Assist with labeling and / or identifying materials when needed. · Understanding documentation process and locations of materials. · Assist in cycle count schedule. · Assist the Bolt Room when necessary. · Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum 1 year of Forklift experience. · Side loading Forklift experience plus. · Able to work in varying weather conditions (rain, heat). · Knowledge of Structural Steel (wide flange, beams, flat bar, angle iron, pipe, etc.). · Excellent organizational skills. · Able to read a tape measure, including various increments such as 5/16”, etc. · Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
