Responsibilities Summary : Drives gasoline, liquified gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials. Essential F unctions : (Res ponsibilities , Tasks, Supervisory Needs) Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. Lubricates truck, recharges/changes batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank. May be assigned work in sub -zero freezer area with proper company PPE provided. Qualifications Required Qualifications : ( Education, Years of Experience, Certifications ) Three to six months experience driving forklifts. Must be forklift certified, or able to become forklift certified . Preferred Education & Experiences One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Ability to safe l y operate powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials. Compliance with all Trident policies . Perform other duties as assigned . Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid and cold conditions , and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products .
