Forklift Operator

Title: Forklift Operator Location: Suwanee, GA 30024 Pay Rate: Competitive / As per requirement Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Schedule: Monday Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM Overtime: May be required Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator to support warehouse and distribution operations. The main responsibility will be safely operating stand-up forklifts and order pickers/cherry pickers to move, store, pick, and load materials. The position is primarily equipment operation, but the associate should also be comfortable helping with other warehouse activities when required. Key Responsibilities Operate stand-up forklifts, order pickers/cherry pickers, and pallet jacks safely. Move products and materials between storage areas, racks, staging areas, and loading docks. Load and unload trucks and incoming shipments. Pick and move products based on warehouse orders or instructions. Place materials in designated storage locations while maintaining proper organization. Assist with packing, sorting, receiving, put-away, and shipping activities when needed. Check products for damage and verify quantities before moving or shipping. Assist with inventory counts and warehouse stock activities. Use RF scanners or handheld warehouse devices to locate and track products. Complete required equipment inspection and operating logs. Report equipment issues, damaged products, or inventory discrepancies to management. Follow proper forklift operating procedures and all warehouse safety rules. Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized. Perform other warehouse duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 1 year of stand-up forklift and/or order picker experience required . 2+ years of forklift experience preferred. Cherry picker/order picker experience strongly preferred. Valid forklift certification or ability to complete required certification. Previous warehouse experience with loading, unloading, picking, receiving, or material handling. Basic computer skills and/or RF scanner experience. Ability to read and follow work orders, safety instructions, and operating procedures. Basic math skills. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Good attendance and dependable work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be flexible to assist with different warehouse functions as required. Physical & Work Environment Ability to operate warehouse equipment for extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and work around warehouse racks and equipment. May occasionally need to lift up to 50 lbs. Steel-toe safety shoes are required. Warehouse may be hot during summer months and can be noisy. Additional PPE may be required depending on the work area. Must be willing to work overtime when business needs require. Additional Information Fast-paced warehouse environment with same-day shipping operations. Most of the workday will be spent operating a forklift/order picker after training. Associates may be assigned different warehouse tasks depending on daily workload. Strict attendance and safety expectations. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity , with potential for increased pay after conversion to a permanent position. .
