We seek a dynamic individual to join our team as a Forklift Operator . As a Sit-Down Forklift Operator , your ability to perform your duties to ensure that customer needs are met, and day-to-day Warehouse activities are executed safely and efficiently is critical to FW Logistics's success. Pay: $19hr Hours: M-F 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM Location: East St. Louis KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Operation: Safely operate a sit-down forklift Material Handling: Load and unload trailers, transport stock, and position heavy goods in storage racks. Machine Operation: Control steering, gear selection, and hydraulic levers to adjust fork height, tilt, and side-to-side positioning. Inventory Tracking: Scan barcodes using RF scanners and log movements via warehouse management systems. Safety Checks: Inspect brakes, steering, and hydraulics before starting a shift, and maintain safe, slow speeds with lowered forks during transit Paperwork: Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and turned in at the end of the shift Racking: Ensure racks are efficiently used by moving products as necessary to free up space and ensure the product is free from damage Requirements: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have high school diploma or GED Minimum of 6 months of operating a forklift in a warehouse, fulfillment center, distribution center or manufacturing environment Ability to work independently and as an effective team member Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time Able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder level Able to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures fluctuate based on external and internal weather conditions Successful completion of site certification after training is required for employees assigned to this account KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Accountable – demonstrating individual accountability which results in collective success.
